My spouse is an online clothing reseller since 2018. She sells on various online marketplaces like Poshmark, eBay and Facebook marketplace.
She always struggled to understand her numbers. Things like:
- how much she is spending on products,
- what is the value of her unsold inventory,
- what are her expenses (ex: packaging, labels, printer ink, etc.),
- what are her profits,
- did she make money or did she lose money on certain transactions,
- what is the total profit breakdown between all marketplaces,
- how much profit did a clothing vendor made her, if any,
- and so much more.
The web app runs on Rails 7, with Hotwire and PostgreSQL.
